Is the X50 Ultra outdated now that the X60 exists?

Not for most buyers. Dreame still sells it on their US store, and it keeps the ProLeap legs, retractable LiDAR and 20,000 Pa suction. You give up the higher 35,000 Pa suction, binocular cameras and the boiling-wash dock — real differences, but not ones every home will notice.

How good is it with pet hair?

Excellent on paper and in tests: the anti-tangle DuoBrush plus 20,000 Pa suction scored 98% on flattened pet-hair pickup in independent lab testing. For homes with shedding dogs or cats on carpet, it remains one of the strongest options near $900.
